every year i long for this day to come. the long awaited birthday bash of the nation finally came. haha i'll go into the details later. i'll talk about my outing with 408 babes first. :)
we met at -it was supposed to be- one at orchard. thankfully i was on time. literally. i reached on the dot. haha but before that i thought i was going to be late. so i quickly msged junnie to make a secret deal with her that i wont need to treat her if i was late. haha. :P while waiting for junnie we were entertained by eunice, who went crazy trying to act out stuff like hibiscus and coconut trees. i shan't go into the details. haha but she was really crazy.
then, we went to do what we were best at. that is, pigging out. we went to seoul garden and polished off dunno how many plates of chicken, beef and a mountain of yong tau foo stuff. i can't belief our appitites. sometimes i think the guys that i know are just lousy. haha. then, after we were satisfied, or shld i say the others were satisfied, we decided to leave. i'm ashamed to say i still felt like eating the ice kachang and chocolate ice cream after that cos i still wasn't full!! (can you believe that.)
after the pig out session i decided to go home to catch the national day parade on tv. :) imma patriotic citizen. :) and i'm proud to be one. haha. i love the pre-parade part. the marching contingents, the parachutees coming down, the f-16 figther jets flying past. lalala. EVERYTHING. but sadly i cant see anything from my window anymore. if i've cursed the condo once, i've cursed it a thousand times. the stupid (sorry must bold, italics and underline to show how irrtating it is :P) condo, which is under construction, blocks almost the whole view of my window. i could previously see practically everything happening at the national stadium. now i can only see a sliver of things through the gap between 2 of the condo blocks. so all i saw live was 1 or two parachutees coming down and 1 fighter jet flying away. how pathetic. nvm i'm still happy. :)
to make up for my loss, my parents decided to bring me to the block beside the mrt station so that i can have a clear view of the fireworks. :) that hdb block is 30 storeys high, mind you. i thought we were being kiasu by going to another block to catch the fireworks. to my surprise, i saw a huge crowd waiting for the lifts to get up the block to catch a glimspe of the fireworks. there was even this extended family who came from god knows where to watch the fireworks. gosh. to think i was patriotic.
when i finally made my way up to the 30th storey, the common corridor was already half full. people were armed with cameras on tripods to catch the prettiest picture of the fireworks. u would have thought there was this 'most beutiful fireworks picture' contest if you were there. so now it was on to waiting for that betiful moment to come. patience baby. :) so to while the time away, i msged yanmin to ask if he was watching the fireworks. and pity he wasn't. continue waiting. and waiting.
then, suddenly, the sky lighted up. WHEE!! the fireworks started! :) there were some coming from the top of the stadium and some coming from the side of the stadium. (i guess it depends on where you watched it from, haha cos i think on tv it all looks like it came from one place) the ones from the stadium were the prettiest. :) fan-shaped, synchronized, just plain beautiful. :) there were 2 rounds of it. and after everything was over, i was still yearning for more. thus i'm hoping my dad can bring me to watch more of it tmr. :))
